Nova Player ("we", "our", or "the application"), identified by package com.novaplayer.stream, is committed to safeguarding user privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data collection, usage, and local processing practices in accordance with Google Play Developer Program Policies.

Nova Player is a standalone, client-side multimedia player utility designed to decode and render user-selected media streams and local media files.

2. Data Collection Principles

• No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell your name, email address, telephone number, precise geolocation, or persistent biometric identifiers.
• No User Accounts: Nova Player requires no registration, login credentials, or account creation to use any feature.
• Zero-Trace Playback Analytics: We do not log or track your personal viewing habits, search queries, or video URLs to any external analytics server.

3. Local Device Storage & Caching

• User Preferences: Preferences like selected UI language and subtitle styling are stored locally on your device via standard Android SharedPreferences.
• Temporary Streaming Buffer: When streaming, short video segments are buffered into volatile device memory (RAM) solely for smooth playback and are discarded immediately upon session termination.
• Session State: Playback position is retained in temporary memory during the session to enable seamless resume capability.

4. Advertising & Google AdMob Disclosure

To support ongoing development and maintenance, Nova Player integrates standard, non-intrusive advertisements served through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK).

Google AdMob may collect and process certain non-personal device information in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy:

• Mobile Advertising Identifier (Google Advertising ID / GAID) to serve relevant advertising.
• Approximate (coarse) IP-based location for region-appropriate ads.
• SDK diagnostics, crash reports, and ad performance metrics.

5. Android Permissions

Nova Player requests only the minimum permissions essential for playback:

• android.permission.INTERNET: Enables streaming user-requested online video links and downloading subtitles.
• android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Allows the media engine to adapt playback buffers based on connection status.
• android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: Keeps the device screen illuminated during active video playback.

No Invasive Storage Permissions: Nova Player does not request broad filesystem access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). Local file playback is handled securely through the Android Storage Access Framework (SAF).

6. Inter-App Communication (Intent Callback)

When Nova Player is launched by another application via an Android Intent, it processes the media URL and parameters locally. Upon exiting or completing playback, Nova Player may pass playback progress (current timestamp and duration) back to the calling application via Android system broadcasts to allow progress synchronization. This exchange occurs strictly on-device.

7. Data Deletion & User Rights

Since no personal data is stored on remote servers, you maintain complete control over your data. You can erase all local configurations and cached media at any time by navigating to:

Android Settings > Apps > Nova Player > Storage > Clear Data
